The Lord gives direction one step at a time,
Will the next step be painful or the next step sublime,
The Lord doesn’t show me the next 20 years,
To know what’s ahead would sure bring me to tears,
God knows what’s best and in that I trust,
To try my own way would sure be a bust,
So many things I don’t understand,
So glad to know just who holds my hand,
Life seems like a maze, with many a path,
It feels like a haze, I can’t do the math,
Which way should I go, which turn should I take,
So many questions, my heart just might break,
The plans I had made, they fell away,
God knew what was better, He orders each day,
Of the dreams that I had, so many did fade,
But God’s in control, so I’m not afraid,
While hard to let go, I must concede,
It is not my desires, that I should but heed,
God sees the future, a comfort that is,
I will lean on Him wholly, my future is His,
