Tonight I went out with my dad and a few other friends of mine. Nothing was happening early on but as the evening wore on we started to see fish starting to jump. They were jumping far out but within our casting range. We were surprised that we weren't catching anything because there were quite a few fish jumping. Finally, I cast as far as I could and right as the buzz bomb hit the water a fish hit it. I had it on for a few second then it came off. I was a bit disappointed but a few seconds later a fish (I am assuming the same one) hit it again and hit it hard. It was quite a way out when I hooked it but for most of the fight it just ran right towards the beach. It put up a bit of a fight once it got close to the beach but I quickly got it in. It was a really good sized fish! It was 5 1/5 pounds and was 24 1/2 inches long. All in all a really solid fish. Soooo, while it may be slow fishing, we are still managing to put a few fish on the beach and in the freezer!

Salmon Season Update
We have experienced decent salmon fishing success lately. The season has not really heated up yet but we are pulling in a few fish here and there. Last week I was busy and was out of town but my dad and sisters went out. I don't know the story behind it because I wasn't there but my dad caught his first of the season. A pretty decent pink salmon.
On Friday we went fishing with a few good friends and it just seemed really slow. There was little to no sign of fish being there and no one was catching anything. We fished for a few hours and were about ready to leave. I made my last cast and worked my lure in. Right as I was pulling my lure out of the water, a mere 4-5 feet in front of me, a salmon grabbed it! It was so close that just setting the hook flipped it up onto the beach. It was fairly small fish but I am not picky and will take any salmon that grabs my lure!
